Privacy Policy
Effective June 2026 · Matching / referral platform — no clinical care
1. Who we are
HomecareMatches is a home-care matching and referral platform. We are not a home-care agency and do not provide clinical or medical care. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
2. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you create an account and submit a care request, including your name, contact details, ZIP code, care type, schedule and hours needed, budget band, caregiver and language preferences, relevant-experience and special-service preferences, emergency/alternate contacts, and any notes you add. We do not ask families to upload medical documents in the app.
3. How we use it
We use your information to review your request, match you with a verified home-care agency and available caregiver, keep you updated on your request status, provide support, and improve our matching service.
4. Who we share it with
To provide the service, we share the details of your request with one or more verified home-care agencies in our network so they can contact you to arrange care. The matched agency becomes responsible for the personal and health information it collects from you directly. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Internal matching notes
HomecareMatches staff may keep internal notes and a status history to coordinate your match. These internal notes are used only by authorized HomecareMatches staff and are not shown to you or to agencies that were not matched to you.
6. Data retention
We retain request information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
7. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive fields and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
8. Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting HomecareMatches support. You can also decline to share your request, though this will prevent us from matching you.
9. Not medical records
The information you provide to HomecareMatches for matching is not a medical record. Clinical assessments and care plans are created and held by your matched agency.
